The bureau didn’t just turn a blind eye they actively undermined Hillary’s campaign. The DOJ’s IG report into the bureau’s handling of the email (faux) scandal investigation made that very clear. The NY FBI really was Trumpland and they pressured Comey with their unauthorized leaks to Kallstrom and the media. Comey, that great leader, couldn’t/wouldn’t control them and they manipulated him like a puppet. The excuse the IG report gave is that those agents were “timed” out. I assume that means they had already served long enough to qualify for their pensions. That’s a ridiculous excuse for letting them interfere in our election.
Perhaps it is also relevant that American voters are polarized enough that negative information about Trump, no matter how well supported by evidence, no matter how devastating in its import, will never make the slightest difference to anyone who doesn’t already oppose him. For a major voting bloc, Trump could amputate and eat both hands of each of their children right in front of them, and they would praise him for having been chosen by God louder than their children could scream. Why? Because changing sides in today’s American politics would extinguish their self-identity, more than letting their children be cannibalized would.

If Trump were a Russian asset, he would have ended the Ukraine war in one day, as he promised to do. He would have stopped the flow of money, armaments and intelligence, and ordered every soldier, spook and medical researcher back home. The reason your assertion is so stupid is because that would have been in the best interest of the U.S. as well as Russia. Peace is generally in everyone's best interest.

Trump has gone as far as possible to reverse that— blocking arms shipments to Ukraine, lifting sanctions against Russia, helping Russia’s economy via tariffs, etc. Even the Iran War helped Putin by jacking up the price of Russian oil. What’s remarkable is that Ukraine has fought so well when it has the world’s two biggest superpowers against it.
One can never over-estimate Trump’s stupidity. His only concern is for himself, which makes it so easy to manipulate him by simply pointing out how the desired action will benefit him.
Even the Russians were worried during the transition to Trump I when Jared Kushner asked the Russian ambassador if the White House could use the Russian communications system to communicate with Putin. They thought he had something devious in mind. He did, but he wanted to keep secret his Putin contacts from the FBI, CIA, NSA, etc

It would seem that we are suffering from the self limiting scope of beuros, rather than of powers; Mueller could find no actionable crime and the bipartisan, Rubio -led committee found only a security threat. Now, and for more than a year, actionable treason has been staring us in the face and saying "Make me."
No US intelligence public statement ever labeled Orange himself a recruited Russian agent, intelligence asset or controlled operative. Not even back when they still seemed to be calling balls and strikes. Even when DOJ was indicting so many of his closest "advisors."
You left what I believe to be another major factor that keeps American media from reporting on Trump doing Putin’s bidding — fear of being taken to court. You can bet their lawyers warn them off those kinds of stories. Remember how intimidated our media because after the tobacco industry lawsuit against CBS and the Food Lion lawsuit against ABC? From what I saw in-depth investigations of corporate malfeasance dropped off significantly after that. The fear of SLAPP suits started long before Trump.
That's somewhat understandable but it's also a weak excuse. Everyday ProPublica does incredible investigations and speaks truth to power, and hasn't been sued into oblivion. So it's clearly possible, but MSM doesn't actually want to do the work our democracy requires, they only want to play it safe and maximize PROFITS
The full page newspaper ads taken out by Trump in 87 were a big deal. It’s weird how we all but forgot. 87 was still the heyday of newspapers, and a full page ad would have cost him hundreds of thousands. Like who would do that as a private citizen but an asset.
