If the theory that Trump became a Soviet asset holds up, it’s important to recognize that he would have been aligned with the anti-Gorbachev faction within the KGB. Vladimir Kryuchkov, head of the KGB at the time, notably led this hardline group and later orchestrated the failed 1991 coup against Gorbachev, aiming to reverse reforms and maintain Soviet power.
Interestingly, after Trump’s 1987 Moscow trip, he praised Putin-like “strong leadership,” openly criticizing Gorbachev’s policies. On his return, Trump expressed skepticism about Gorbachev’s reforms, claiming the Soviet leader lacked “a firm enough hand.”
Why would Trump—a real estate developer from New York—hold such clear opinions about internal Soviet politics, aligning himself precisely with the hardline, anti-reform stance?
Yet we're sending immigrants to the gulag in El Salvador without any due process many of which are in fact innocent of any crimes & meanwhile Pamie is claiming on the propaganda channels that one such person is from a gang for wearing a certain baseball cap or having tattoos etcetc. What about a coup attempt against our own country with plans to kill certain representatives, most they pardoned. Perhaps from what you are writing of it is him & all his associates that should have been really dealt with long before he even thought about that elevator ride down. The same guy that took out a full page ad accusing people of a crime they did not commit was proved. The same guy of which the majority of us do know was responsible for these same behaviors against women & young girls. Stolen national security, convicted felon etc etc etc. Djt & Co could care less about our country & never have only what they can take, steal & grift from it. 👏👏🇺🇸
Masha Gessen suggests in her 2012 book, "The Man Without a Face: The Unlikely Rise of Vladimir Putin," that Kryuchkov's attempted coup against Gorbachev was planned to fail.
Totally on brand with trump

Not that Gorbachev deserved such unfettered praise to begin with.
